Body found in stream
A body was found in Raumanga Stream in central Whangārei yesterday. A member of the public called police just before 2pm to report a body floating face-down. It is believed the body, which was near a vessel and mooring poles at the rear of Hihiaua Cultural Centre on Herekino St, became visible as the water dropped. Acting Senior Sergeant Shane Turner, of Whangārei police, said the body had been removed and the site had been blessed by kaumatua. The man had yet to be identified. There was nothing to indicate any suspicious circumstances. A police investigation ....

Police have reopened a residential street on Auckland s North Shore after earlier evacuating residents after officers found a suspicious item at a house.
Officers were called to Sunrise Ave, in Murrays Bay, this morning.
Police said officers and the armed offenders squad executed a search warrant at a residential property there.

Police execute search warrants after racist graffiti in Calamvale Park
Detectives from the Counter-Terrorism Investigation Group investigating racist and neo-nazi graffiti spray painted in a Calamvale park in February, last week executed a number of search warrants.
Police will allege between February 3 at 6pm and February 4 at 6am, the footpath at the Calamvale District Park was spray painted and a racist banner was attached between two trees.
A number of items of interest were seized after police executed three warrants on Brisbane’s southside on Friday (April 9). At this time, no charges have been laid and investigations are ongoing. ....

Police update 4: Missing man, Cleveland

Police with the assistance of volunteers from the State Emergency Service (SES) have today, continued their search for missing 69-year-old Cleveland man, Anthony Roper.
Anthony Roper (pictured below) was last seen on March 19 outside a Cleveland service station at the intersection of Princess and Bloomfield street.
At the time, Anthony was wearing blue jeans, thongs and a shirt with dark stripes.
He is described as Caucasian, around 180cm tall, of a large build, is bald, has blue eyes and a slightly grey beard.
Multiple police and approximately 70 SES personnel searched through bushland, water ways and neighbourhoods in the Redland Bay, Thornlands and Cleveland areas. ....
