KOTA KINABALU: Train services in Zone 1 here, which include Kota Kinabalu, will resume from Monday (March 8) as cross-district travel based on zones has been allowed in the state, says the Sabah State Railway Department.
Previously, train services from Kota Kinabalu to Beaufort station were halted from Jan 14 when the movement control order was imposed.
However, the Beaufort - Halogilat and the Tenom - Rayoh sectors continued to be operational then.
“Based on the state government’s permission for movement according to zones, the department is restoring train services under Zone 1 effective March 8.
“The schedules are based on the original timetable, namely Kinarut - Papar, which will take off at 5.36am; Papar - Sembulan (6.11am); Tanjung Aru - Papar (7.45am); Papar - Sembulan (12.16pm); Sembulan-Papar (5.30pm); and Papar-Kinarut (6.33pm).

A TOTAL of RM1,390.76 million or 32.98 per cent is distributed to all departments and agencies under Ministry of Works (KKR) – the highest allocation given under State Government Development Fund Programme in the 12th Malaysia Plan amounting to RM4,217.56 million.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor said the State Government has allocated RM1,117.7 million to public utilities and infrastructures sector for next year.
Of this, he said KKR, along with its departments and agencies, will be allocated RM762.01m to cover operation, recurrent expenditure, upgrading, and maintenance.

“An amount of RM231.49m is allocated for development. Of that, RM9.88m will be allocated to KKR.
