Court House ramp will welcome people of all abilities
Getting in and out of a much-loved historical building will be easier when a ramp is installed at the Camperdown Court House.
The ramp will let people with all abilities use the community hub, visitor information centre and arts space.
Garden beds and paving on the corner of McNicol and Manifold streets will be reworked to include the ramp from McNicol Street with gardens on either side.
Mayor Ruth Gstrein said the court house was an iconic building right in the heart of Camperdown offering a visitor information hub. ....

More businesses across Corangamite Shire will be able to take advantage of financial incentives, to give their premises a facelift.
The Council’s Business Façade Improvement Program (BFIP) is into its seventh year and for the first time eligibility has been extended beyond the main business strips.
Mayor Ruth Gstrein said the Corangamite Shire innovation had been so successful it was copied by other municipalities around the State.
“Initially the focus was on the main shopping strips to encourage highway users to stop and spend in our towns,” Cr Gstrein said. ....

Council to improve disability access
Motorists are advised that there will be minor disruption to parking at the intersection of Blende and Oxide Streets later this month as Council works to improve disability access in the Central Business District (CBD).
Reconstruction of kerb guttering will see disability-friendly ramps placed around the intersection, and refuge islands will also be replaced and upgraded.
The ten-week project will begin on February 23, and works will be completed individually at each corner of the intersection to minimise traffic disruption.
However, motorists can expect some disruption to parking around each corner as upgrades are underway. ....
