WATERTOWN â Samaritan Medical Center on Monday again expanded its limited hospital visitation. But some restrictions will apply to limit the number of people in facilities on any given day, especially with limited waiting area spaces and the ability to social distance safely. The major patient group impacted by these new changes is hospital inpatients. Now, two designated visitors per day are permitted. Exceptions may be made for end-of-life visitation, with coordination arranged through the nursing supervisor. No visitation will be permitted for COVID-19 inpatients, COVID-19 Patients Under Investigation, or patients in quarantine â with compassionate exceptions for end-of-life. Visiting hours are from 2 to 6 p.m. and all entry and exit will be through the Rotunda entrance, located between the hospital and Samaritan Keep Home. ....
WATERTOWN â City firefighter Greg French barely got in the front door of a Scio Street home early Friday morning when he found himself bringing little Avril Sanford into the world. Mr. French and colleagues Acting Captain Pat Lyon and Eric Hoselton on Engine One were just finishing up their 10-hour shift when a call came in at 6:20 a.m. Friday for âa pregnant woman.â It ended up a morning that the 14-year veteran firefighter might never forget. Within a few short moments, he found himself delivering a baby while mother Kristen Sanford laid on the living room floor during the unexpected birth. ....
The calling hours for Joan L. Spink will be from 11:00 til Noon on January 9, 2021. The funeral will follow at Noon in the chapel of TLC Funeral Home, Inc. Mrs. Spink died at the Samaritan Medical Center on December 29, 2020. She was 77. Among her survivors is her husband of 59 years Robert Spink. Also surviving is her son Timothy Spink, her son Daniel Spink and her daughter and son in law Mrs. Robert (Maureen) Lyng all of Pulaski. A complete obituary will be printed next week.
