Jamaican Government commit to assist vulnerable citizens impacted by COVID-19

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Minister of Labour and Social Security Karl Samuda says Government is committed to assisting the most vulnerable persons who have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic.
He said that up to the end of March, more than J$9 billion (US$58.6 million) was expended for cash grant payments under the Programme of Advancement Through Health and Education (PATH), representing a 40 percent increase over the fiscal year 2019/2020.
Minister Samuda told the House of Representatives that in keeping with the Government’s commitment to protecting and providing nutritional support for children under PATH, additional benefits were also provided to families in April, June, October, and December 2020. ....
