New unified platform for settling work disputes soon: Labour Ministry

Doha: The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs has announced the establishment of a unified platform for complaints and disputes in the coming days.
The platform will allow employees and workers who are subject to the labour law to submit complaints related to work issues. The announcement by the Ministry came on the occasion of the International Workers’ Day, observed worldwide yesterday.
In his speech on the occasion, Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs H E Yousef bin Mohammed Al Othman Fakhroo, affirmed the commitment of the State of Qatar to continue its relentless efforts aimed at promoting and protecting workers’ rights and providing a safe and healthy work environment. Doha: The State of Qatar participated in the Fourth Conference on Women and the 23rd session of the UN General Assembly yesterday.
The State of Qatar was represented at the conference, held via video conference, by Minister of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs H E Yousef bin Mohammed Al Othman Fakhroo.
In the State of Qatar’s speech, the Minister affirmed Qatari support for all women’s issues, particularly the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and the outcome of the 23rd special session of the General Assembly. In order to enhance the role of women in community and ensure their participation and representation in decision-making positions, the State of Qatar has taken many legislative and executive measures to eliminate all forms of discrimination against women, he said. ....
