Ambassador Farid Mamundzay: Afghan Refugees have received support from Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust in Amritsar. It came at a time when this community was suffering from the crisis as a result of the pandemic. They required food, medical and relief assistance. Dr Oberoi (Managing Trustee of Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust), came forward fulfilling our request. He said he would help us with the required food supply, required medical and humanitarian assistance. The relief provided to the refugees on a day before Eid brought joy to them. New Delhi: In what is a symbol of strong people-to-people linkages, a Sikh NGO Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust extended support after the Afghan Ambassador to India Farid Mamundzay reached out on social media for Afghan refugees amid the COVID pandemic. The NGO sent the first tranche of relief which includes wheat, sugar, oil, and other essential food items that will benefit 4000 Afghan refugee families in the city amid the covid pandemic.
Speaking to our Principal Diplomatic Correspondent, Sidhant Sibal, Envoy Mamundzay said, grateful for the support provided by the host community, the Indian community, both in New Delhi and elsewhere. . ....

Eid Gift: Sikh NGO joins hands with Afghanistan embassy to give ration to refugees in need

Ahead of Eid, a Sikh NGO has come forward to help thousands of Afghan refugees who have been affected due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Several of them are Muslims and are fasting in the month of Ramadan.
A social service organization, Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust, has, in collaboration with the Afghan Embassy, decided to help nearly 4,000 families in dire need of rations and medical supplies.
Farid Mamundzay, the Afghanistan Ambassador to India, said This aid will help relations between countries reach new heights. The relationship between the two countries is not only at the governmental level but is also nurtured by people-to-people contact. ....
