China will accelerate efforts to recycle new energy vehicle batteries in line with a five-year plan for developing circular economy unveiled on Wednesday, experts said.
The country is expected to reach a peak in battery replacement by 2025.
According to the plan released by the National Development and Reform Commission, the top economic regulator, China will step up building the traceability management system for new energy vehicle or NEV batteries. ....

China will accelerate efforts to recycle new energy vehicle batteries in line with a five-year plan for developing circular economy unveiled on Wednesday, experts said.

According to the plan released by the National Development and Reform Commission, the top economic regulator, China will step up building the traceability management system for new energy vehicle or NEV batteries.

More measures will be taken to promote NEV manufacturers to set up recycling service networks by themselves or through cooperation with upstream and downstream industry players, the plan said.

The team led by Yuan, dubbed China s father of hybrid rice, said they had already signed contracts to reclaim 400,000 hectares of saline-alkali land in China and will strive to plant saline-alkali soil rice on one-sixth of the land this year.
Yuan s team successfully developed varieties of saline-alkali tolerant rice in 2017, with the highest average yield of over 800 kg per mu, or 12 tonnes per hectare, recorded in Jiangsu Province last year. ....
