#Evacuation Alert issued by Cowichan Tribes First Nation for: Quamichan west, Clem Clem, Wil’seem Rd., Sahilton Rd., Tyup Rd., Joe Rd. & Green Point or Khenipson Rd.
Residents of Quamichan west, Clem Clem, Wil’seem Road, Sahilton Road, Tyup Road, Joe Road, and Green Point or Khenipson Road have been told they may receive little notice to leave due to changing conditions.
“People with mobility issues are strongly encouraged to leave now and identify their transportation options,” the release said.
On Saturday, the B.C. River Forecast Centre issued a flood watch for East Vancouver Island from Nanaimo to Fanny Bay including the Englishman River, Nanaimo River and surrounding tributaries. ....

Flooding prompts evacuation order from Cowichan Tribes First Nation near Duncan, B.C.

Up to 50 millimetres of rain is expected over some areas by Saturday evening.
Other areas of the Cowichan Tribes First Nation are under an evacuation alert. They include Quamichan West, Clem Clem, Tyup Road, Joe Road, and Green Point of Khenipson Road.
Residents are being asked to prepare to evacuate their property, should flooding worsen.
