Santa Clarita City Councilwoman Marsha McLean has been tapped for leadership roles with two regional boards in Southern California.
Santa Clarita City Councilwoman Marsha McLean has been tapped for leadership roles with two regional boards in southern California.
McLean has long been an advocate for the Santa Clarita community, focusing on transportation, environmental protection, homelessness and many other issues, adding a powerful local voice to policies and decisions that directly affect residents, according to a statement issued by the City of Santa Clarita Thursday.
“It is an honor to serve the Santa Clarita community not just as a member of the City Council, but also as a champion for local issues at the regional, county and state levels,” McLean said in a statement Thursday. “I will continue to be a strong advocate and ensure the voices of Santa Clarita Valley residents are heard.” ....

Glendale City Councilman to Chair Metrolink | San Fernando Valley Business Journal

Glendale City Councilman Ara Najarian has been named as the chairman of the governing body of Metrolink, the commuter railway service.
Najarian will head up the Southern California Regional Rail Authority Board of Directors effective Jan. 1. He replaces outgoing chair Brian Humphrey, who represents the Ventura County Transportation Commission.
Prior to his appointment as Metrolink chair, Najarian served as vice chairman for two years. He was first appointed to the board for the rail service between 2007 and 2012 and was reappointed in 2013. He represents the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, or Metro.
He credited his predecessor Humphrey with ushering in a new generation of leadership for the rail agency. ....
