Image Source: IANS News Mysuru, May 5 : After receiving flak from her counterpart as well as a number of elected representatives over the Chamarajnagar tragedy, Mysuru deputy commissioner Rohini Sindhuri on Wednesday denied all allegations made by Chamarajanagar Deputy Commissioner, M. R. Ravi Kumar, over supply of oxygen. Reacting for the first time after the controversy erupted two days ago, Sindhuri told reporters that each district is responsible for the happenings within its jurisdiction. How can I be responsible for supply of oxygen to Chamarajangar? I was intimated about the shortage only at midnight and immediately I helped them by sending 40 cylinders from our district s quota, she said. ....

Patient relatives allege mismanagement; CM calls for emergency meeting tomorrow Chamarajanagar: Over 24 COVID-19 patients died in Chamarajanagar and according to the District Administration as many as 12 patients died due to lack of oxygen as the hospital ran short of supply of the critical gas and other patients died due to various co-morbidities. The deaths occurred at COVID-19 Health Centre in the District where the patients were being treated. The District Administration has also said that only a proper death audit would reveal whether the patients died due to oxygen shortage or due to other reasons. Following the deaths, Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa has asked Chamarajanagar District Minister Suresh Kumar and Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar to rush to the District and take stock of the situation. ....

Hills Temple Development Authority has restricted the entry of devotees to the M.M. Hills Temple for the upcoming Ugadi festival Jatra, scheduled to take place from Apr. 10 to 13. As a precautionary measure to control the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, the Authority has barred devotees from visiting M.M. Hills for four days from Apr. 10 to 13. The Authority has also decided to conduct the Jatra in a simple and symbolic manner on account of COVID-19 crisis. ....
