Qatar joins the International Council of Nurses and countries worldwide in celebrating the achievements of nurses on International Nurses Day.
Marked annually on May 12, the theme this year is ‘Nurses: A Voice to Lead – A vision for future healthcare’, which focuses on the changes to and innovations in nursing and how this will ultimately shape the future of healthcare.
Minister of Public Health, H E Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, said, “The past year has been incredibly challenging for healthcare workers the world over and to the nursing staff across the healthcare system in Qatar. Doha: A week into the Covid-19 vaccination campaign in Qatar, post-vaccine surveillance has not reported any serious side effects. A small number of those who have taken the vaccination reported very modest side effects including low-grade fever, mild headache, fatigue and soreness at the injection site, which is commonly seen with other vaccines.
Since the start of the vaccination campaign on Wednesday, December 23, the PHCC teams have successfully vaccinated people at 7 designated PHCC Health Centres - Al Wajbah, Leabaib, Al Ruwais, Umm Salal, Rawdat Al Khail, Al Thumama and Muaither. ....

First phase of COVID-19 vaccination campaign begins in Qatar

Expected to be the largest vaccination campaign the country has ever witnessed, the vaccination drive against COVID-19 has been set in motion in Qatar, as of today.
The first shipment of the Pfizer-BioNtech s COVID-19 vaccine arrived in Qatar on Monday night. Earlier that day, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH)
The first phase of the vaccination drive will run from today until January 31, 2021.
During the first phase, priority will be given to people over 70 years old, adults in chronic care, and home care facilities, healthcare personnel most at risk of infection, and people over 16 years of age with severe chronic diseases. ....
