Samsung Pay will discontinue rewards program by end of 2020

If you’ve been earning points for the Samsung rewards program by using Samsung Pay for your online and in-store purchases, you have a few more days left to do so. By the end of 2020 or at the beginning of 2021, you will no longer get those points for all transactions and gift card purchases that you make using Samsung’s mobile payment platform. They are also ending the Samsung Rewards Tiers since there will be no additional benefits there anyway.
According to Android Police, Samsung Rewards members received an email which basically told them that by December 31, 2020, 11:59PM, they will no longer earn Rewards points if you use Samsung Pay to pay for transactions as well as gift card purchases. They also announced that the Samsung Rewards Tier program is ending “for the time being”. Big Changes Coming to Samsung Rewards Program

Late last week, Samsung sent out emails to
Samsung Pay users, detailing a big change that will take effect on December 31 at midnight. If you use Samsung’s Rewards program, this news is important, so listen up.
As of January 1, users will no longer earn Rewards points for Samsung Pay transactions and gift card purchases. Additionally, Samsung Rewards Tiers no longer hold any benefits and Samsung is ending its Tier program “for the time being.”

Samsung s rewards program currently allows users to earn points that can be redeemed for items ranging from digital storage to smartphones. It s a lucrative program that carries over to Galaxy Store purchases as well as those at Samsung storefronts. Unfortunately, as of 2021, Samsung Pay transactions will no longer earn you any points.
As Android Police reports, Samsung Rewards members have received emails outlining changes to the program. They affect transactions made via Samsung Pay as well as gift card purchases.
As of 12/31/2020 at 11:59 PM PST, you will no longer earn Rewards points for Samsung Pay transactions and gift card purchases, the email reads. This also means that Samsung Rewards Tiers no longer hold any benefits and we will be ending our Tier program for the time being.
