Feb 11, 2021 WESTFIELD – Richard L. “Rick” Abbey, 56, of Hardscrabble Rd. Westfield, NY, passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021 at home following a brief illness. Rick was born November 21, 1964 in Westfield Memorial Hospital the son of Dale L. Abbey and the late Sally D. (Toy) Abbey. He was a graduate of Westfield Academy and Central School Class of 1983. Following graduation, Rick specialized in computer building and repair. Most recently, he had been employed at the Chautauqua Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility in Dunkirk, NY in their facility operations department. In his spare time, Rick enjoyed hunting and working on cars. He also was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.

SUE HAMMOND Photo by Jan Berkhouse Sheila Chapman of the Westfield-Mayville Rotary Club has stacks of holiday cards for veterans and senior citizens. Westfield-Mayville Rotary Sends Holiday Cards to Veterans and Seniors Members of the Rotary Club of Westfield-Mayville, the Brocton Central School Interact Club and the Chautauqua Lake Central School Interact Club recently signed 1,918 holiday greeting cards for area veterans and senior citizens. The Westfield-Mayville Rotary Club led this campaign to help brighten the holidays for individuals in area skilled care and assisted living facilities, as well as for Meals on Wheels recipients. Sheila Chapman, Westfield-Mayville Rotary Club board member, served as the chair of this joint endeavor. Chapman and Westfield-Mayville Rotarians J.B. and Linda Dunn helped to deliver the cards to the various facilities who desired them for their residents and clients.
