A truck driver has been charged with dangerous driving after he allegedly mowed down a group of five mates - leaving two fighting for life - before driving on for 23km.
Victoria Police charged the 64-year-old heavy haulage truck driver with two counts of dangerous driving causing serious injury on Friday.
The truck driver allegedly failed to stop to help the injured pedestrians after the crash near the intersection of City Road and Power Street at Southbank about 7pm Thursday night.
His employeer K&S Group said he  maintains he was unaware of the incident .
