CHARLESTON A woman is suing a Charleston physician for the death of her family member following surgery to remove her gallbladder.
Lisa A. Purdue filed the lawsuit as the administratrix of the estate of Charlotte Gay Hylton against Dr. Mahmoud Hossino after Hylton was admitted to Charleston Area Medical Center on July 16, 2019, and underwent a laparoscopic cholecystectomy on July 24, 2019, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.
According to the complaint, Hossino failed to timely diagnose and treat Hylton for bleeding following the surgery. She suffered and ultimately died, the suit claims.
Purdue claims Hossino was negligent and caused Hylton to sustain physical pain and suffering before her death; mental pain and suffering; loss of income; medical expenses; funeral and burial expenses and sorrow, mental anguish and solace. ....
