EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - An officer with the Evansville Police Department is facing felony violence charges.
According to the Evansville Police Department, Officer Jamarius Ward was arrested on Wednesday.
EPD officials held a press conference Thursday.
âThis is a sad day for the Evansville Police Department,â said Chief Billy Bolin. âBut hopefully it shows the public that Evansville Police Officers are not above the law.
Police say the victim, a young child, was hit several times with a blunt, flexible object and had bruising on the clavicle, upper back, wrist, and upper arm.
