729 patients with severe COVID-19 treated in Kazakhstan

NUR-SULTAN. KAZINFORM – In total, 33,002 people continue receiving coronavirus treatment in Kazakhstan, Kazinform reports citing the Telegram channel of the Kazakh Health Ministry.

Of the total number of COVID-19 patients under treatment, 13,030 are in-patients and 19,972 are out-patients.
Nationwide, 729 COVID-19 patients are in severe condition and 178 in critical condition. 99 are on artificial lung ventilation.
Notably, the country has reported 1,832 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. ....

Bal Pharma on Monday said it has launched antiviral drug Favipiravir in the domestic market under the brand name BALflu for the treatment of COVID-19. The Bengaluru-based company said its formulation would be available in tablet form with 400 mg strength. ....

Hyderabad, May 24 (IANS) Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday directed officials to implement a two-pronged strategy to curtail the Covid-19 spread in the state.
He asked them to continue fever survey, and distribute medical kits, while also ramping up testing.
Reviewing the Covid situation at a high-level meeting, he said that the on-going fever survey and distribution of medical kits, the first of its kind in the country, is yielding good results and it should be continued.
KCR, as Rao is popularly known, directed the Medical and Health Department to increase the number of Rapid Antigen Test Kits in all the medical centres. He said from Tuesday the number of kits should be increased and if need be, the manufacturers should be asked to increase the production and supply. ....
