Former Reform Party members form new political party – Singapore United Party

Of the 11 pro-tem committee members in SUP, at least 8 have had former affiliations with the Reform Party. Mr Zhu, Mr Soh and Ms Noraini were part of the Reform Party team which contested in the 5-men Ang Moh Kio Group Representation Constituency in the 2020 General Election. Reform Party’s secretary-general Kenneth Jeyaretnam and its current chairman, Charles Yeo, were the others who contested in the same constituency.

Soon after the electoral contest, the Reform Party announced that Mr Zhu and Ms Noraini, who was its Treasurer, were stepping down. Mr Zhu however contested the announcement alleging “undemocratic” means were used by the Party to oust him from Office. Mr Jeyaretnam disputed this saying, “(Mr Zhu) was removed by a unanimous vote of the CEC”. ....

SPP chairman Jose Raymond retires from politics to focus on expanding business

Singapore People s Party (SPP) chairman Jose Raymond has bid farewell to politics, in order to focus on expanding his company regionally.
Raymond most recently contested in Potong Pasir SMC for the first time during the recent 2020 General Election (GE2020).
He lost the seat to Sitoh Yih Pin of the People s Action Party (PAP).
Welcomed those in need to continue reaching out to him
He founded SW Strategies in 2016, and is currently the firm s chief strategy officer.
In a Facebook post, Raymond announced that he will be stepping down from politics in order to focus on expanding the firm regionally, which is a goal he had since 2016. ....

SINGAPORE: Singapore People s Party (SPP) chairman Jose Raymond announced on Tuesday (Dec 22) that he is leaving politics to focus on expanding his business.
In a Facebook post, Mr Raymond thanked his supporters and his team of volunteers for their efforts during the 2020 General Election.
