Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Baba Jamal, has disclosed that the hierarchy of the opposition party finds nothing wrong with comments made by the National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, regarding the conduct of their caucus leaders in parliament.
According to him, though Sammy Gyamfi may have gone a bit overboard, the party s hierarchy does not see anything distasteful with what he said.

A ruling New Patriotic Party activist and former National Coordinator of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON), Isaac Acheampong has described as absurd the rejection of three ministers-designates by minority MPs on Parliament’s Appointments Committee after the nominees appeared for vetting.
He said the three nominees will ultimately be approved at plenary and so there is no significant effect of the decision by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) legislators.
“In fact, what the NDC MPs have done is seriously much-ado-about-nothing and it is part of a sustained attempt to deceive their followers after their disappointing loss at the 2020 presidential poll,” he said. ....

Why five Akufo-Addo nominees were not approved by the Appointments Committee

Godfred Yeboah Dame, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful and John-Peter Amewu
Five ministerial nominees out of the 30 so far vetted have reportedly received red flags from the Minority MPs on Parliament’s Appointments Committee to reappear for further questioning.
They are Communication and Digitalization Minister-nominee Ursula Owusu-Ekuful; Railway Minister-nominee John Peter Amewu; Roads Minister-nominee, Kwasi Amoako-Attah; Attorney General and Minister of Justice-nominee Godfred Dame; and Health Minister-nominee Kwaku Agyeman-Manu.
Made up of a total of 26 members – 13 each from the NDC and the NPP Caucuses – the Committee began the constitutionally mandated vetting process on February 10 and are expected to finish on March 9.
In a report sighted by GhanaWeb, the NDC MPs led by Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu have outlined reasons for their decision. ....
