Private hospitals can't ask patients' kin to refill oxygen cylinders: Noida order | Noida News

Noida: An order passed by chief medical officer Deepak Ohri barring private hospitals in Noida and Greater Noida from asking relatives of patients to arrange for oxygen kicked up a furore on Monday evening, leading to Ohri amending the directive late in the night.
The order, and the amendment, drew criticism from doctors and residents’ groups, who said it would only add to operational confusion and create more hassles for families of Covid-19 patients.
Ohri’s first order barred doctors deputed at the 23 private Covid-19 care facilities in the district from seeking assistance of a patient’s attendant in procuring oxygen. The order stated, “All private doctors are directed that nobody will ask the kin or attendant of the admitted patient to get oxygen refilled as such a move only increases difficulty and causes inconvenience to everyone. Hence, all doctors are hereby directed to stop such activity.” ....

Gurugram, May 2 (IANS) A 25-year-old man in Haryana has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in a public park opposite an oxygen gas plant in Manesar on Saturday, after he failed to get oxygen cylinder for one of his relatives.

Help from BHEL: 500 O2 cylinders for Ghaziabad | Noida News

100 oxygen cylinders will be used to equip isolation beds while the remaining 400 cylinders will be sent to hospitals across the district.
GHAZIABAD: To deal with oxygen shortage, the Ghaziabad administration will procure 500 cylinders from Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) in Uttarakhand.
They are due to reach the district by Wednesday night, officials said.
According to the officials, 100 oxygen cylinders will be used to equip isolation beds while the remaining 400 cylinders will be sent to hospitals across the district.
“Against a daily demand of around 42 tonnes of oxygen, we are short by a few tonnes. Since that is proving to be costly for us, we have arranged for 500 cylinders from BHEL,” said an official. ....

NOWSHERA: Two women were killed and a man sustained burn injuries in a LNG cylinder blast here on Friday.
One Ali Akbar told the police that his wife was using the LNG cylinder to cook food for Iftar when it burst suddenly.
He said that his wife, mother and he sustained burn injuries in the blast. The injured were taken to a hospital in Peshawar, where the two women succumbed to their injuries. ....
