SUKKUR: A task force team of the Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO) on Tuesday conducted a surprise visit to Ketty Mumtaz Bhutto and detected six illegal electricity connections running the tubewells in the agricultural field of former CM Sindh, Sardar Mumtaz Ali Bhutto.
Sources said the task force team has reached the conclusion that some of the SEPCO employees were allegedly behind the electricity theft. The team has also requested the FIA to dig out the electricity theft. Sources in SEPCO said that the deputy director technical, Raj Kumar, who has also been enjoying additional charge of divisional commercial manager, was behind all the theft. ....

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said on Monday that he was not answerable to prime minister or any minister but to the provincial assembly.
He said that the chief minister was not answerable to any person, including to the prime minister except to the provincial assembly. “My answer may not be taken as negative but as a matter of fact that the chief minister is only answerable to the provincial assembly,” he said. He said while talking to the media just after inaugurating Diagnostic Complex and Dow Institute of Life Sciences at Ojha Campus. Sindh to take over HESCO, SEPCO if center continues subsidy for next 5 years: Murad Ali Shah
Karachi, January 25, 2021 (PPI-OT): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that his government was ready to take Hyderabad Electric Supply Company and Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO) subject to the condition that the federal government would continue its power subsidy for next five years. This he said while talking to the media just after inaugurating Diagnostic Complex and Dow Institute of Life Sciences at Ojha Campus. He was accompanied by Parliamentary secretary on Health Qasim Siraj Soomro.
Replying to a question, the chief minister said that the HESCO and SEPCO were power distribution companies running in heavy losses. “I had written a letter to the Prime Minister much earlier and had requested him to hand over both the companies to the Sindh government on the condition to continue the subsidy, whatever the federal government was giving to them,” he said a ....
