Urging BNP to stand beside the common people amid COVID-19 epidemic, Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said they (BNP) should seek apology from the countrymen for spreading confusion over the coronavirus vaccine.
“Regrettably, BNP and their friends and some groups could not see any good work of the government. And they tried to spread different confusions from the very beginning of the COVID 19 pandemic among the commoners openly,” he said.
Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary, said this while addressing a distribution ceremony of health protective materials among different organizations of journalists on behalf of AL Relief and Social Welfare sub-committee at AL president’s office in city’s Dhanmondi. ....

63 countries including Canada, Spain and Nepal have legal prohibitions on any kind of smoking, including in Designated Smoking Areas (DSA). But our country s law allows DSAs to exist within public places, including inside train, launches, airports, and restaurants, Mokhlesur Rahman, assistant director of Dhaka Ahsania Mission s health sector, said at a webinar held on Wednesday.
The event, titled Role of Media in Building A Tobacco Free Bangladesh 2040 , was jointly organised by Aviation and Tourism Journalists Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB) and Dhaka Ahsania Mission.
Speakers demanded that the government lift the provision of keeping DSAs in public places in order to protect non-smokers from being victims of second-hand smoking. ....
