FIBA Honorary Referee Bernard Pasteris passes away
FRIBOURG (Switzerland) - International basketball is in mourning following the passing of FIBA Honorary Referee Bernard Pasteris.
Born in 1937, Pasteris was an influential figure in Swiss basketball. He refereed around 200 games for FIBA in both men s and women s competitions, from 1973 to 1988. He also served as a Commissioner for 18 years following his refereeing career.
Pasteris took part in various European Championships in all categories and also refereed numerous European Cup games, as well as at the game celebrating FIBA s 50th anniversary,in Geneva in June 18, 1982.
