The number of people with COVID-19 in Leeds, Grenville and Lanark tumbled to a two-month low during the weekend.
There were 59 active virus cases in the heath unit as of Monday, 13 fewer than Friday, as the people who recovered from COVID outpaced the new cases.

A total of 31 people recovered during the three days while 13 others contracted COVID, according to the figures from the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit.
The encouraging news comes after an uptick in COVID numbers during Thursday and Friday of last week. ....

A third local person has died of COVID-19 in the last five days, the health unit reported Wednesday.
The latest death was a woman who was a member of the community, in other words not a resident of long-term care, but the health unit could not release other details.
