Statement - Brimbank Council response re EPA's approval on EMP for Cleanaway site at Ravenhall

“Brimbank Council is extremely disappointed with the EPA’s decision to approve an Environment Management Plan (EMP) for Cleanaway’s Spoil Management and Reuse Facility adjacent to Ravenhall.
“This is the third EMP EPA has approved for this project. While EPA does not expect there to be further applications, the approval of an EMP does not mark the final decision on where the spoil will be sent and Brimbank Council will continue to vehemently oppose this decision.
“We will continue our fight to advocate in relation to Cleanaway’s proposal to transport, process and store contaminated soil from the Westgate Tunnel Project at Melbourne Regional Landfill in Ravenhall. ....

Super hub 'overlooked' | Brimbank & North West

Brimbank council is concerned the Sunshine Super Transport Hub has been overlooked in the designs for Melbourne Airport Rail.
The state and federal government last week revealed concept plans for a new bridge over the Maribyrnong River and elevated twin tracks between Sunshine and the Albion Junction.
The new bridge will be 550 metres long, 50 metres high and built alongside the existing heritage-listed rail bridge over the Maribyrnong River.
Between Sunshine and the Albion Junction, airport trains will gradually rise to travel on new elevated twin tracks for less than two kilometres, before descending and continuing at ground level alongside the existing freight line. ....
