Woman rushed to hospital after Mount Ninderry fall

A woman had to be taken to hospital after falling at Mount Ninderry.
Police said the emergency crews rushed to the woman s aid after she fell at ground level just before 7pm on Thursday.
Emergency services retrieved her from the track and transported her in a stable condition to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, police said in a statement.
The woman was in her 30s.
No further incidents were reported from overnight.

Alleged car thieves escape in Golden Beach police chase

He said the car was travelling in a northerly direction along The Esplanade when a patrol observed the vehicle at 2.24am on Friday.
“Police immediately attempted to intercept this vehicle and occupants by activating lights and sirens, however the stolen Honda CRV motor vehicle accelerated away from police and was driven in a dangerous manner,” he said.
“Police deactivated their lights and sirens and did not commence a pursuit of the stolen vehicle in accordance with the Queensland Police Service Safe Driving (Pursuits) Policy.”
The vehicle was allegedly stolen from a Gold Coast address during a burglary at 4.30am on Thursday. ....

277 calls to police in 'challenging' New Year's Eve

With Sunshine Coast Councilâs usual Mooloolaba event cancelled Act Supt Overland said it was a challenge to identify where officers should be located.
Extra police resources were sent to Noosa where up to 10,000 people congregated at Hastings St and Main Beach.

âSurprisingly lots of calls came from the Noosa area where we were able to send a lot of resources to assist in policing because it became very busy, very quickly,â Act Supt Overland said.
âThere were up to 10,000 people in the Hastings St and beach area which is a new phenomenon, we havenât had that for New Yearâs Eve in the past. ....
