Borosil Renewables said that the government s recent decision to impose a countervailing duty and a basic customs duty on certain import items will benefit the company.The Ministry of Finance (MOE), Government of India, has imposed a countervailing duty ranging from 9.71% to 10.14 of cost, insurance, and freight (CIF) value for a period of 5 years, on imports of textured tempered coated or uncoated solar glass from Malaysia or of which origin is in Malaysia and exported from some other country or of which origin is some other country and exported from Malaysia.

Hold back basic customs duty on solar equipment in Budget: Developers

Solar power developers in the country have demanded that the government should hold back the imposition of basic customs duty (BCD) on solar equipment for the time being in the forthcoming budget.
They fear that this could derail the government s ambitious target of having 175GW renewables by 2022, requiring an investment flow of Rs 1.75 lakh crore.
According to industry estimates, as much as Rs 1.75 lakh crore investment is required to bid out 35GW of renewable energy capacity in the country. About 50 GW of clean energy is under implementation, while India has already installed over 90GW renewables, including 37GW of solar and 38GW of wind energy. ....

Ashoka Buildcon bags 150 MW solar project worth Rs 502 cr

Ashoka Buildcon has receives notification of award (NoA) from NTPC Renewable Energy in respect of the project viz EPC package of 150 MW solar PV project in Rajasthan which includes operations and maintenance of complete solar PV plant for a period of three years from the date of successful trial run.
The accepted bid value / project cost of the project is Rs.502.33 crore exclusive of GST.
