She said the country remains unsatisfied with the performance of some Government ministers who, she said, continue to fail in their efforts in the fight against the covid19 virus. In the past week, Ministers Terrence Deyalsingh (Health) and Stuart Young (Energy) came in for heavy criticism for using the concessions to purchase a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and a Mercedes Benz GLE 450, respectively. Leaked documents from within the Board and Inland Revenue shows these vehicles were purchased over the last three months. ....

Where are the regulations? What powers will the police and/or army have? What are the limitations on the constitutional rights of citizens? The firm was hired to advise the Cabinet in legal proceedings over national scholarships and bursaries. “…This retainer adequately demonstrates why these amendments should be repealed in order to facilitate an adequate level of accountability and transparency as it relates to the expenditure of public funds.” ....

Newsday reported the law firm of Al-Rawi, Haynes-Soo Hon and Co was hired to file a formal response on behalf of the Cabinet to a pre-action protocol letter sent by the Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha. ....
