AHEAD of 2023 general and presidential elections, former Federal Commissioner for Information and South-South Leader, Chief Edwin Clark has said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor should come from the South-East geo- Political zone of the country.
Clark’s call enjoyed the backing of President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Professor George Obiozor, who restated the call for the Igbo to produce the president in 2023.
Clark, however, stressed that the Igbo should be from the South-East and urged Igbo-speaking people from Delta and Rivers states not to aspire for the exalted position but should all back the South-East to achieve it in 2023. ....

Chief Edwin Clark has called on the nation’s political class to support the call for President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor to come from the South East geo-political zone.
Clark, who made the call when he played host to the Ohanaeze Ndigbo leadership and some South East leaders at his Asokoro residence on Sunday in Abuja also called on other Igbo speaking sons outside the South East zone not to allow themselves to be used to scuttle the South east president ambition, even as he described as abominable and condemnable if any Igbo speaking person from Delta and Rivers States aspires for the exalted position because such a person speaks Igbo. ....
