KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: Terming the Covid-19 situation in Karachi as alarming, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah directed the IGP Sindh and Commissioner to ensure timely closure of all the businesses by 6 in the evening and constituted a ministerial committee to sensitise all the stakeholders, including shopkeepers, traders, transporters and politicians to cooperate with the government in the supreme interest of the public health, otherwise nothing will remain under control. In Karachi the detection rate was recorded at 26.32 percent on July 26.
Amid a sharp rise in Covid-19 cases in the province, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has issued directives to ban unnecessary movement after 6pm. The orders were issued during a meeting of the Provincial Task Force on Tuesday after reviewing the latest pandemic situation. Alarming rise in Covid-19 cases in Karachi

KARACHI: The Sindh chief minister Friday announced to shut down dining at restaurants and marriage halls, close shrines, recreational spots and educational institutions, except those where examinations are taking place and reduced business timings of markets/shops from 6am to 6pm from Monday.
CM Murad Ali Shah took the decision following the recommendations from Provincial Taskforce on Covid-19. The situation prompted the provincial government to send an SOS signal to the National Command and Operation Center for more oxygen cylinders and related equipment to treat the rising number of critical patients as oxygen crises intensified in Karachi hospitals.
Presiding over the meeting of Provincial Taskforce on Covid-19, the chief minister said that pharmacies and bakeries would operate as usual, but there would be two closed days: Friday and Sunday, while the government and private offices would function with 50 percent staff attendance, except the departmen ....
