BANGKOK: The Cabinet has approved a measure to allow small- and-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to use their software or computer program-related expenses as a deductible against corporate income tax due, at the rate of two times the expense in some cases.

BENGALURU: Companies are rolling out wellbeing allowances for their employees to deal with expenses related to Covid. Some are also supporting them with extended workfrom-home benefits and creating dashboards for verified Covid-related information.
Salesforce India is giving Rs 15,000 as a one-time payout to go towards any Covid-related expenses, sources told TOI. Salesforce is offering $250 for office tools and equipment, in addition to the $250 provided last year. To support working parents, it has expanded its family care leave, making them eligible for six weeks of paid time off. VMware, which has nearly 11,000 employees in India, has rolled out a wellbeing allowance of Rs 29,565. ....

New Zealand s housing crisis continues to stagnate efforts to slash child poverty, the latest data shows.
The Government today released two child wellbeing reports, holding it to account on measures introduced in 2018 to reduce child poverty.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, who is Minister for Child Poverty Reduction, said the reports highlighted most children and young people in New Zealand were doing well, with many improvements in key measures. ....
