Civil Group Writes Sanwo-Olu, Seeks Ban of Commercial Motorcycles

A civil society group has written the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, over what they described as the increasing menace of commercial motorcycle riders otherwise known as Okada in the state.
The group Advocacy for Societal Rights Advancement and Development Initiative (ASRADI), in an Save Our Soul (SOS) message to the governor, urged him to urgently put measures in place to bring to an end, “The terror being unleashed on Lagosians by Okada riders”.
The group in the letter signed by its Executive Director, Adeolu Oyinlola, stated that the Okada riders operate in total disregard for traffic rules, thereby endangering the lives of other road users. ....

Murder Of Job-seeking Umoren Triggers Cries For Help On Twitter To Find Missing Loved Ones

Umoren was later found dead and buried in a shallow grave.
She was said to have also been raped by her abductors.
Though the police have been blamed for insisting on waiting for 48 hours before Umoren could be declared missing after her friends and family had lodged complaints, they later claimed to have made some arrests in connection with her death.
However, the story has sensitised people to the need to share stories of their missing loved ones on social media, hoping that with swift action, their loved ones could still be found before it would be too late.

A Civil Society Organisation, CSO, One Love Foundation, OLF, weekend, wrote to President Muhammadu Buhari, Save Our Soul, SOS, letter, over rising insecurity in Edo State.
The letter which was signed by Founder and President, OLF, Chief Patrick Eholor, with the subject ‘Insecurity In Edo State: Urgent SOS To Authorities’ expressed fears over the rampaging criminals in the State that has led to several kidnap incidences, arm robbery attacks, cult clashes, rapes, and other vices.
The CSO also stated that the insecurity situation has become a nightmare to Edo people despite the presence of security agencies. ....
