SHC asks govt, NICVD to submit affidavits on Khursheed Shah’s alleged illness

SUKKUR: The Sindh High Court, circuit bench, Sukkur, has ordered the administration of NICVD to submit an affidavit regarding the alleged illness of PPP leader Syed Khursheed Shah, who has been under treatment for two years after the institute was declared a sub-jail for him.
The SHC Sukkur bench had sought a reply from the administration of NICVD Sukkur, regarding the illness and treatment of Khursheed Shah, and directed the chief secretary Sindh to submit an affidavit by today (Wednesday) in person.
The court also asked the NICVD to submit the record of other patients with the same illness, who were treated in the hospital and determine the period of their treatments. Upon non-provision of the affidavit, the court also ordered the administrator of the NICVD to leave the proceedings and come with an undertaking, which was submitted later. SUKKUR: The police presented accused Syed Khursheed Shah before the Accountability Court Sukkur on Tuesday in a corruption reference of Rs1.23 billion along with 18 other co-accused, including his two wives, his nephew and Sindh transport minister, Syed Owais Qadir Shah, and MPA Farrukh Shah.
While talking to media persons outside the court, PPP’s leader Khursheed Shah said rather than pursuing the opposition, Prime Minister Imran Khan should ask the people about his government’s performance for the past two and a half years. He also asked the media to bring PM’s earlier statements and announcements he made during the election campaign, so that people could analyse the performances of the PTI’s incumbent government and they could also know how many promises Mr prime minister had fulfilled. He said the political agitation against Imran Khan should be carried out to take the masses on board and it should not be stopped. ....

Sindh to launch travel insurance facility, says minister

Like elsewhere in the world, the travel insurance facility will be launched in Sindh to provide insurance cover to passengers, drivers and transporters after appropriate legislation, said Sindh Minister for Transport and Mass Transit Syed Owais Qadir Shah.
He said this while in his address to the participants of a travel insurance awareness programme organised by the PES Technologies at a hotel.
The minister said no insurance cover was available at the moment to compensate the road accident-affected passengers, drivers or transporters, which, he said, was the need of the hour. ....
