Manpower shortage a hurdle for Japan s vaccination
NHK has learned that some municipalities say it will be difficult for them to complete their anti-coronavirus vaccination programs for the elderly by the targeted end of July. They say a shortage of medical professionals is a major hurdle.
Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide recently indicated the government will make efforts to have the country s elderly population vaccinated by that time.
Some local governments have said they will finish giving shots to seniors in August or later.
