Bauchi: Man allegedly kills pregnant girlfriend, newborn, conceals corpses in sewage

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 34-year-old man, Lamido Gunduma, for allegedly killing his pregnant girlfriend and their baby in Jamaare Local Government Area of the State.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday said the suspect conspired with his friend to abort the girlfriend’s pregnancy which led to her death.
According to him, the suspect further went to dump the bodies in a sewage after realizing they were dead.
“One Saidu Iliyasu of Zubuki area Jamaare L.G.A, Bauchi came to Jamaare Divisional Headquarters and reported that his daughter, one Jamila Saidu 35 years was missing. ....

6-year-old Bauchi girl whose genitals were mutilated recovers

Daily Trust reports last December how the suspects, 20-year-old Adamu Abdul Ra’uf and 19-year-old Abdukadir Wada Haladu of Gandu area in Jama’are town, lured little Hawa’u into an uncompleted building where they cut off her genitals for ritual purposes.
She was rushed to Aminu Kano University Teaching Hospital in Kano for treatment at the instance of the State Governor, Bala Mohammed.
Hawa’u was handed over to the Bauchi State Governor Mohammed at the Government House by State Commissioner of Health, Dr Aliyu Mohammed Maigoro in company of her parents.
Mohammed, who stated that communities must stand up to stop “this dehumanising act of savagery”, said the government could not do it alone. ....
