As some food prices continue to rise across the island, the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries has announced that that the prices of pork and pork products are expected to also go up.
The ministry, in a release on Thursday, said the increases are expected to be between 13 and 20 per cent.
According to the ministry, earlier that day, the President of the Jamaica Pig Farmers’ Association (JPFA), Annabel Williams, in a radio interview, made a statement that may have been misconstrued to mean that price increases would likely be about 80 per cent, which the ministry has sought to clarify. ....
