Former Madison booster club treasurer indicted by grand jury in theft

A local woman was indicted by the Madison County Grand Jury earlier this month, the State Comptroller reported in a statement Monday morning.
Charity Maddox Baker was indicted on one count of theft over $2,500 after she allegedly misappropriated $7,582.94 over the course of 14 checks and altered money orders meant for the Madison Academic Rebounders Club from June of 2017 until May of 2019.
The Rebounders Club was the booster club for the basketball program that was established in 2008.
In May of 2017, Harris was named treasurer of the club, according to the Comptroller’s investigation report. ....
