A repeat drink-driver who breached home detention was suffering from cabin fever , stuck at home over the holiday period, her lawyer says.
Karla Lee Keen, 43, was wearing an electronic ankle bracelet when she left her property in Redwoodtown, Blenheim without permission, at 9.47am on January 3.
She told probation said she left because she was bored at home, a summary of facts said.
Keen admitted a charge of breaching home detention at the Blenheim District Court on Wednesday.
She had been sentenced to nine months home detention last October for drink-driving on Blenheim s Main St with a breath alcohol level of 1047mcg on April 18. The legal limit is 250mcg. ....
