(PCGH / MANILA BULLETIN) Dr. John Victor De Gracia, PCGH officer-in-charge, said the new classification means that coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the city are on a decline. He said hospitals have four classifications in determining the percentage of COVID-19 patients admitted — the critical risk with above 86 percent occupancy rate; high risk with 70 to 85 percent; moderate risk with 60 to 69 percent, and the safe rating which is lower than 60 percent occupancy. The safe rating for PCGH also means that doctors and nurses can now relax as there is no high number of patients who contracted the virus that has been admitted. De Gracia added that as of May 5, the hospital’s COVID-19 ward has 59 percent occupancy rate, and three ICU beds and 10 regular beds are now vacant.
(PCGH / MANILA BULLETIN) In a text message to Manila Bulletin, Dr. John Victor de Gracia, PCGH officer-in-charge, said for the past week, the hospital’s COVID-19 wards have been at 75 percent capacity. Just three weeks ago, De Gracia said the hospital was 100 percent full with moderate to severe cases of COVID-19. He added that their emergency room isolation areas were more than 100 percent occupied. “Today our bed occupancy rate is 71 percent,” he said. From critical, the hospital has gone down to high risk, he added. If COVID-19 cases would continue to go down, De Gracia said the hospital will further be classified as moderate with 60 to 69 percent occupancy rate.

(PCGH / MANILA BULLETIN) Citing a report from hospital officer-in-charge Dr. John Victor de Gracia, Rubiano said the city’s lone public hospital now has two available Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds and four regular beds for COVID-19 patients. The hospital has also re-opened its emergency room (ER) and started accepting COVID and non-COVID patients. Last month, PCGH temporarily suspended admissions of COVID-19 patients to its ER after reaching full capacity. All 25 PCGH employees who have contracted the virus have also recovered, the mayor said. Rubiano said the hospital will prioritize the admission of city residents but will also accept non-Pasay residents seeking medical attention.

More patients that are moderate to critical were brought to the hospital), according to Dr. John Victor De Gracia, officer-in-charge of the PCGH De Gracia, in an interview with TeleRadyo, said the hospital continues to accept patients. “Meron pa tayong konting available beds hindi pa tayo 100 percent full (We still have available beds and we not 100 percent full yet),” he said.
