Guild welcomes Pfizer return to CSO wholesaler distribution model
The Pharmacy Guild of Australia welcomes today’s announcement from Pfizer Australia that they will return to distributing medicines through the Community Service Obligation (CSO) pharmaceutical distribution.
Pfizer today announced they will transition from a direct distribution model to a wholesaler distribution model in third quarter of 2021.
The Guild’s National President Trent Twomey acknowledged the announcement “this is good news for community pharmacies who will now be able to access Pfizer medicines under the CSO – which ensures equity of access to Pfizer medicines delivered across Australia under the same agreement as all other CSO distributors. ....

PharMIbridge RCT training for pharmacists in regional Victoria
Training for regional Victorian pharmacists involved in the Bridging the Gap between Physical and Mental Illness in Community Pharmacy (PharMIbridge) Randomised Control Trial (RCT) was held in Melbourne on 8th & 9th February 2021.
The PharMIbridge RCT is a collaboration between The Pharmacy Guild of Australia, The Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, Griffith University and The University of Sydney. The RCT is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health as part of the Sixth Community Pharmacy Agreement.

Five pharmacists have been honoured in this year’s Australia Day Order of Australia Awards.
