Youth Service takes part in fun activities over Easter

The Easter holidays have been a fun and busy time for the Gibraltar Youth Service with a wide variety of activities taking place.
At the Youth Centre, members enjoyed a selection of creative arts sessions culminating with a visit to the GEMA Gallery in Montagu Bastion.
Laguna Youth Club held a movie night for club users and were treated with Easter eggs by the Royal Gibraltar Police Charities Committee.
Dolphins Youth Club catered for all age ranges by providing a mix of team building games, pizza making and dodgeball, whilst members of the Plater Youth Club enjoyed arts and crafts sessions, a visit to the Northern Defences and focused on the planning of their upcoming Urban Garden. ....

A new location for a skatepark has been “earmarked”, the Minister for Youth Steven Linares announced as he visited the existing skatepark to view the refurbishments that had taken place. The Gibraltar Youth Service, in collaboration with the GSLA, RGP and Skateboard Association have given our local skate park a new lease of life.
The community project has seen the skate park transformed into a bright and enjoyable space for skateboarding sports to take place.
The project enlisted the expertise of graffiti artist, Barry Gaduzo to work alongside the local skaters to design the artwork on the surrounding walls. The concrete pillars divide each wall and the values chosen by the users of the skate park are represented on each wall giving the skate park a strong identity. ....

Loreto Convent donates over 5,000 items for families in need

Loreto Convent parents, pupils and staff have supported the food collection for needy families in Gibraltar over Christmas.
The Gibraltar Youth Service collected over 5000 items of food, toiletries and small gifts for children and were assisted by our Year 6 ‘Elves’ to load up their van.
Loreto Convent also celebrated Christmas Jumper Day with money raised all going to Save the Children.
