KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 16 — Allegations that a contract has been issued to construct a multipurpose hall in Pagoh, Johor, for RM35 million were false and malicious, the Prime Minister’s Office said today.
Pagoh is the constituency of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
The PMO said that the funds were, in fact, for three such halls in Johor: one in Tangkak costing RM13 million and two in Muar that cost a total of RM22.4 million.

Remedial works on collapsed roads, bridge in Pitas will be from emergency fund, says state JKR

Low lying villages in Pitas continue to be under water despite improving weather in the northern regions of the state.
KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Public Works Department (JKR) will use the emergency allocation to carry out repair works in flood-hit Pitas district.
State JKR director Ali Ahmad Hamid said among the remedial works were several stretches of flooded roads and a damaged bridge at Sungai Paparoun Telaga Pitas, following a downpour earlier this week.
He said the department would be utilising the fund to expedite works and connectivity to the affected villages as soon as possible.
"JKR and district engineers have already visited the areas to gauge the damage and prepare the reports.
