The integrated campaign showcases the Bonds’ Cheer Bleeders wearing Bloody Comfy Period Undies as they cheer about different aspects of periods using the tagline ‘Cheer through the Bleed’. The cheers are raw, humorous and bloody honest. ‘Cheerbleeders’ aims to change the uncomfortable experience many Australians still feel when getting their period, with many taking time out from school, sport and other activities due to discomfort, teasing and fears of embarrassment. July 19, 2021 10:10 Bonds has launched its latest campaign, promoting its new Bloody Comfy Period Undies, with a cheer team to support, before, during and after a period. The campaign, ‘Cheer through the Bleed’, features the Bonds ‘Cheer Bleeders’, all wearing the new range, as they cheer through the ad about some of the honest aspects of menstruation. Creative director at Special Group, Luke Thompson said: “Bonds’ mission is centred around making the world a more comfortable place for everyone and there has never been more opportunity to do this than when it comes to young Aussies and the cultural norms around periods. The campaign, created in partnership with Special Group Australia and Uth Hong Kong, set in a lavish and stylish home, features Joyce and Alfred donning denim jackets covered in the logos of many local favourites. In the commercial, Joyce playfully irons patches of logos from some of their favourite local shops they will be ordering from. Towards the end of the scene, the duo are seen promoting many local restaurants and their food with an entire wall of televisions sitting behind them, while Alfred is seen in a classic Mary Poppins moment pulling out dishes after dishes of food out of an Uber Eats paper bag.
