LOS ANGELES: South African actor Sharlto Copley, best known for movies like 'A-Team', 'District 9' and 'Elysium', will feature alongside Idris Elba in Universal's 'Beast'. The survival thriller, being directed by Baltasar Kormakur of 'Everest' fame, has started filming in South Africa, reported Deadline.
Copley joins the film's cast along with actors Iyana Halley and Leah Sava Jeffries.
Based on an original idea by Jaime Primak Sullivan, the film has a script by Ryan Engle, who previously worked on the Dwayne Johnson-starrer "Rampage".

Idris Elba will fight for his survival against the King of the Jungle in his new movie “Beast,” set for release next summer.
Universal has set an August 19, 2022 release for “Beast,” which is directed by Baltasar Kormákur and finds Elba on a trip to South Africa, only for he and his two teenage daughters to be hunted by a massive rogue lion intent on proving that the savanna has but one apex predator.
And it’s got a dope tagline too: Sometimes the rustle in the bushes actually is a monster.

Idris Elba cast in action film Stay Frosty

Idris Elba has joined the cast of the action movie 'Stay Frosty'.
The 48-year-old actor is attached to star in the new movie from director Sam Hargrave, who helmed the hit acting flick 'Extraction' last year.
Warner Bros. have acquired the rights to the project, which has been written by Tyler Marceca. Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg are producing for Dark Horse Entertainment together with Elba and Hargrave.
The story centres on a man who miraculously survives a bullet to the head and needs to figure out who wants him dead and why. He must stop the assassin while still making it back home in time to spend Christmas with his son.

Lemonada Media, a podcast network startup founded by Jessica Cordova Kramer and Stephanie Wittels Wachs, has signed with CAA.
The company says its podcasts “share an unfiltered version of the human experience” that provide a way for people to come together. Lemonada previously was repped by UTA.

above left) is Lemonada’s CEO and Wittels Wachs is chief creative officer. Founded in 2019, the Minneapolis-based company last year raised $1.5 million in seed funding led by Blue Collective, an early-stage venture capital firm.
Lemonada’s first show, “Last Day,” premiered in September 2019 and focused on the U.S. opioid epidemic through the lens of the co-founder’s losses of their own brothers. By February 2020, it was a top-trending podcast and has had more than 4 million downloads to date. The company premiered season 2 of “Last Day” last fall, focusing on the country’s suicide epidemic.
