Therapy is an adventure with Kamsack program


 
DUCK MOUNTAIN PROVINCIAL PARK
A program called Adventure Therapy is wandering through Duck Mountain Provincial Park in southeast Saskatchewan.
Oliver Kabatoff completed his second session on Jan. 7 with a six kilometre hike through the hills to Moose Lake and back. 
It s more or less just feeling better about myself and just a better outlook on things, you know? said Kabatoff at the halfway point. 
This route is the shortest in the program, but that doesn’t mean it is easy. 
Their true character comes out when people are pushed and that s the idea, we want to see the real person. We don t want to see the mask they re hiding behind, explained Jamie Desjarlais, who started the program this past summer with Shelley Gunn.  ....

Adventure Therapy program takes horseback riders into winter wonderland


Brayden Cote rode through the breathtaking Duck Mountain Provincial Park back country during an adventure therapy outing offered by the Cote First Nation.
Jamie Desjarlais and Shelley Gunn prepared a fire in the cabin at Green Lake to warm horseback riders at the half-way point of the trail.
Regular participants in Adventure Therapy outings are brothers (from left) Ryland Cote, Brayden Cote, and Kelsey Shingoose.
Pamela Whitehawk, sitting Cote First Nation Band Councillor, joined in on the adventure therapy program on a Madge Lake Bible Camp horse named “Pumpkin”.
Madge Lake Bible Camp horse wrangler, Joselene Gory, guided novice rider, Megan Severight back home through the seven km winter trail ride. ....
