CHULA VISTA, Calif We have a new development on the story of a devastating fire that killed two young children in Chula Vista. The father of the boys is now suing his former landlord saying that they re responsible.
James Frantz, Jesus Suro’s attorney, said Suro did everything he could to try and save his two little boys lives and has to now live every day without them.
When his smoke detector went off upstairs, he got up, ran downstairs to try and save the boys. He went in and had to go around the house because he couldn t get in the main room. And he got in there and he got burned himself trying to save them. He couldn t get to them. Frantz said. ....

Civil Complaint Filed Over Deadly Chula Vista Fire

Lawyers for Jesus Suro, whose two children died in a Chula Vista fire, filed a civil suit on Thursday.
The Civil Complaint comes two months after the fire that burned the Coralwood Court home on May 6.

“This tragedy has been the worst thing to ever happen to Jesus and his family,” Suro family Attorney, James Frantz said.
Frantz alleges in the complaint filed that the owners of the home, Miroslav and Ann Sykora, illegally converted a garage into a living space and did not fix electrical deficiencies that were brought to their attention. ....

UPDATE: 2:08 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021 - An edit has been made to this article to show trust fund is handling the distribution of the settlement and not PG&E.
BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - Tens of thousands of Camp Fire survivors are still waiting for the trust fund to pay them.
The utility agreed to pay more than 24 billion dollars, 13.5 billion to the survivors. Because there are tens of thousands of claims, that means people like Chellsee Lende will have to wait to get what PG&E owes them. ....
