6,000-km bicycle expedition to Imphal in Manipur flagged off

Tour operator Shravan Kumar (26) on Monday began his second ambitious expedition Pedal for Green, pedalling 6,000 km from Mangaluru to Imphal, the capital city of Manipur, to create awareness about climate change. He had pedalled 10,000 km from Kashmir to Kanniyakumari in 2018 to create awareness on Swatch Bharath Mission.
Speaking at the flag-off, Mr. Kumar, a member of Junior Chamber of India (JCI) and a resident of Gurupura, said that through the ride, he intends to bring people closer to nature and motivate them to plant more and more saplings. He would also encourage people in urban areas to raise urban forests (Miyawaki Forest), Mr. Kumar said. ....

Mangaluru, Jan 3: The third showroom of Jyoti Cycle in the city was inaugurated on Sunday, January 3 by Badrinath Nayak, Gopinath Nayak, Rayappa Nayak and Jyoti Prasad Nayak at Kottara.
The lighting of the lamp was done by senior members of the family. It was a joyful occasion for the family as they celebrated their 75th year of being in business. The Kottara showroom will be led by Arun Nayak, who will be taking cues from what his grandfather and founder of the firm the late Raghuveer Nayak and the second-generation of the family have carried forward till now. Arun Nayak has an ambitious goal of spreading the wings further. Under his able leadership, the store will be promoting brands Hero, BSA, Tata Stryder and Firefox. ....
