The work is now set to finish in October due to acquisition issues in Andhra Pradesh, say railway officials The work to double the railway tracks between Yelahanka and Penukonda is likely to be completed by October. Once this important track is doubled it will help the railways to increase the speed of the trains and to avoid frequent halts due to trains crossing. Sources from the South Western Railways (SWR) said that out of the 120.55-kilometre-long stretch, additional tracks for another 48 kilometres are yet to be laid. Although the project received approval in 2015, it faced some hurdles while acquiring land in Andhra Pradesh. This delayed the project. ....
