OFFALY showed oceans of character, true guts and ability as they booked a place in the Leinster U-20 Football Championshipfinal against Dublin with a richly deserved win over Westmeath in Mullingar tonight.

Just two points separated the sides at the end and Offaly ended up hanging on but they were the better side by a distance on the day and would not have been flattered by a bigger winning margin.
